FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions.
Everything pet parents ask us about how KiLoki works alongside your veterinarian.
What makes KiLoki different from a traditional veterinarian?
KiLoki doesn't replace your veterinarian—we complement them. Traditional vets focus on diagnosing and treating illness, while we focus on prevention, early detection, and holistic support. Our platform provides advanced testing, personalized wellness coaching, and access to natural solutions that help your pet thrive between vet visits.
What types of pets do you support?
Currently, KiLoki focuses on dogs and cats, with plans to expand to additional species in the future.
How accurate are the tests?
We partner with trusted laboratories and providers that use clinically validated methods for DNA, sensitivity, and blood testing. Our results provide reliable insights into your pet's health, empowering you with information your veterinarian can also use for ongoing care.
Do I still need to see my vet?
Yes. We encourage all pet parents to maintain a relationship with a licensed veterinarian. KiLoki is designed to work alongside veterinary care by offering additional data and holistic recommendations that strengthen your pet's overall wellness plan.
What happens after I get my pet's results?
A KiLoki wellness coach will review your pet's test results and provide a personalized wellness plan. This may include recommendations for nutrition, exercise, supplementation, and lifestyle adjustments tailored to your pet's unique needs.
Are the supplements and foods you recommend safe?
Yes. We carefully curate products that are eco-friendly, sustainably sourced, and vet-trusted. All recommendations are designed to support your pet's long-term health without unnecessary additives or harmful ingredients.
Can KiLoki prescribe medication?
Our platform offers access to food, supplements, and certain medications through trusted partners. If prescription medication is necessary, we work with licensed professionals who can legally provide it.
Is KiLoki only for sick pets?
Not at all. KiLoki is designed for every pet—whether you want to address specific health issues or simply support your companion's long-term vitality. Many families use KiLoki to be proactive, preventing problems before they arise.
How does KiLoki support sustainability?

How does Ask KiLoki work?
You share a short pet profile (species, breed, age and weight) and type a question. KiLoki's AI assistant returns an urgency banner, a plain-English summary, a conventional veterinary view and a holistic view side by side, and a list of questions to ask your vet.
Is Ask KiLoki free?
Yes. Visitors can ask 3 questions for free. Entering your email address and the access code we send unlocks unlimited questions at no cost.
What information does KiLoki use to answer a question?
KiLoki uses your pet's species, breed, age and weight, the health condition or symptoms you describe, and any lab values you upload or paste. It does not have access to your veterinary records unless you share them.
Does KiLoki replace my veterinarian?
No. KiLoki is educational support only. It cannot examine your pet, diagnose a condition or prescribe treatment. Use its answers to prepare for a better conversation with your veterinarian.
How do breed and age change KiLoki's answers?
Breed and age change what is most likely and what is worth watching. For example, a senior cat with weight loss raises different questions than a young cat, and some breeds are prone to skin allergies or joint problems. KiLoki factors these into its summary and vet questions.
What is the difference between the conventional and holistic views?
The conventional view describes how a veterinarian would typically investigate and treat a concern, such as tests and medications. The holistic view covers supportive factors like diet, environment, stress and routine. Holistic options support veterinary care; they do not replace it.
Are supplements safe to give my pet?
Not always. Some supplements interact with medications, affect lab results or are dosed differently for pets than for people. Talk to your veterinarian before starting any supplement. KiLoki never gives supplement or medication doses.
What should I do if KiLoki shows an urgent banner?
Contact your veterinarian or an emergency animal clinic right away. The urgent banner appears when the signs you describe could need prompt care, such as trouble breathing, collapse, seizures or suspected poisoning.
Which lab results can I upload?
You can upload PDFs or photos of your pet's bloodwork printout, up to 10 files at once and up to 20 MB each, or paste the values as text. Uploading several reports from different dates lets KiLoki chart how values change over time.
How are my uploaded lab results handled?
If you are not signed in, your files are read once to create the analysis and are not kept. If you are signed in to My KiLoki, your reports and analyses are saved privately to your account so you can see trends later. You can delete saved reports at any time.
Who can see my saved questions and lab reports?
Only you. Saved questions and lab reports are tied to your account and protected so other users cannot access them. Report files are stored privately and downloaded through short-lived secure links.
Why does KiLoki ask for my email address?
Your email address is used to send a one-time access code that unlocks unlimited questions and full lab reports, and to sign you in to My KiLoki.
Is KiLoki's content reviewed by a veterinarian?
KiLoki's guides are written from established veterinary references, which are listed on each page. KiLoki does not currently have a veterinary reviewer, so guides are marked as awaiting review and kept out of search results until a licensed veterinarian reviews them.
Can KiLoki read every lab report correctly?
Not always. Blurry photos, unusual layouts or handwritten notes can lead to misread values. Always compare the values KiLoki shows with your original report and ask your veterinarian about anything that looks off.
